2009 – 2010 School Goals
The teaching staff at Highland Park works hard to facilitate an ongoing approach to school improvement. After an analysis of student assessment data the following goals were set for the 2009 – 2010 school year.
1. To improve students’ literacy skills.
2. To improve students’ behaviour in a variety of school environments using Restitution practices and the Social Responsibility curriculum.
As always, we welcome parent input and greatly appreciate any support parents are able to provide. Reading with and to your child, or encouraging them to write cards, letters, stories, etc., are a few of the ways parents can assist in the development of their child’s literacy skills. Discussing the moral of a story, the values exhibited in a television program or the values you as a family consider important, are also wonderful strategies that will assist your child’s moral and social development.
For more information regarding this year’s school goals please contact your child’s teacher or one of the administrative staff.
